DARING FOR ZERO
Designing for Electrified Mobility
December 12, 2023
In March 2022, we presented Dare Forward 2030, a bold strategic plan that paves the way for Stellantis to achieve Carbon Net Zero by 2038, from well to wheel and throughout the entire supply chain(1). This unprecedented commitment requires coordination and dedication across the entire Company.
Since the announcement of the plan, several teams have been working internally and with external suppliers to develop and implement the most efficient and effective solutions to meet these targets.
In the “Daring for Zero” series, we get a first-hand account from a few of these teams of how they are delivering on this commitment and bringing us closer to achieving our carbon neutrality ambition.
Meet Ralph Gilles, Chief Design Officer, Stellantis North America, and Alexandre Guignard, Stellantis Chief CO2 Corporate Officer, as they share how they are reimagining the sustainability and design of our North American vehicles from a carbon net zero perspective.
In 2022, passenger cars and vans were responsible for around 10% of global energy-related CO2 emissions(2). At Stellantis, we are investing €50 billion in electrification over the next decade, with a target of a 100% passenger car battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales mix in Europe and a 50% passenger car and light-duty truck BEV sales mix in the United States by 2030.
As Ralph and Alexandre explain in the video, design plays a crucial role in this strategy. Delivering on the comfort and safety needs of our customers, we create attractive, functional, and sustainable mobility solutions that embody the DNA of our brands while reducing carbon emissions and protecting freedom of mobility.
