Stellantis is committed to a culture of integrity, responsibility, and ethical behavior in all areas of activity and along the entire value chain.

Our CSR activities are fully embedded throughout the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan. This includes a clear focus on becoming an ever more environmentally conscious, socially responsible, and economically viable business.

Using a 360-degree approach which encompasses all stakeholders, we are implementing responsible practices to drive the business, while continuing to execute on our rapid transformation to a sustainable mobility tech company and reimagine the future of transportation for generations to come.

Reduction of the Global Carbon Footprint (all scopes)

  • Central to the Company’s Carbon Net Zero by 2038 commitment
  • 7.3% reduction in CO2 equivalent emissions in terms of carbon intensity resulting in an average reduction of 5.9 tons of CO2 per vehicle sold in 2023 (versus 2021) over the product’s lifetime (-12.6% vs 2021 in absolute terms)
  • 3 “grEEn-campuses” currently under development in France, Italy and Germany to house our centers of expertise and R&D

Massive Use of Decarbonized Electricity

  • We are targeting 100% use in our processes by 2030
  • In 2023, we reached 58%. This contributed to a 20% reduction in our absolute industrial carbon footprint vs 2021 (in tons of CO2 equivalent for both scopes 1 and 2)

Development of Circular Economy Activities

  • In 2023, more than two million parts were recycled in four regions
  • Stellantis inaugurated its first SUSTAINera Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori, Italy, with start-up activities including engine, gearbox and EV battery remanufacturing, in addition to vehicle reconditioning and dismantling

A Structured Vehicle Electrification Roadmap Involving All Brands

  • At the end of 2023, 30 battery electric vehicle (BEV) models were available. This number is set to increase by a further 18 models to reach 48 BEV models in 2024 
  • Our global BEV sales increased 21% in 2023, with electric and plug-in hybrid accounting for: 
    • 18.5% of passenger cars sold in Europe (EU27), and  
    • 11.2% of passenger cars and light duty trucks sold in the U.S.

Developing the Skills of the Future

  • Engaging in sustainable transformation based on co-constructive social dialogue 
  • Over 90% of our 251,000 employees worldwide received training in 2023 to support the Company’s transformation  
  • €144 million invested in training in 2023, particularly in new digital and software technologies  
  • More than 60,000 employees trained in electric mobility technologies

  • Diversity is in our DNA, with employees from 160 nationalities in 37 countries and 16 iconic brands sold in 130 markets 
  • Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our Human Resources development policy, with women now holding 30% of leadership positions
  • Safety, health and well-being in the workplace is our number-one commitment to employees, including, in particular, the possibility of flexible working, both remote and on-site, for 100% of eligible employees
  • €6 billion has been redistributed to employees over the past 3 years, and we have launched an employee shareholding plan with preferential conditions

Strong Monitoring and Execution of Stellantis Responsible Purchasing Guidelines

  • In 2023, nearly 3,500 supplier groups were assessed by EcoVadis, the sustainability ratings provider, corresponding to more than 89% of annual purchased value
  • Results show that Stellantis suppliers are performing better on CSR criteria than the EcoVadis benchmark

A Commitment to Host Communities

Some examples in 2023 include:

  • More than €18.5 million provided to support: 
    • 366 philanthropic projects focused on education, and 
    • 5,174 Stellantis employees participating in employee volunteer programs
  • The Stellantis Student Awards which celebrated more than 600 family members of employees for dedication to continuous learning and education
  • The Stellantis Foundation partnered with CERN to inaugurate the Science Gateway in Geneva, its new outreach center for science education
