Diversity and Inclusion
Our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is in our DNA, where the Stellantis community represents 170 nationalities across six regions of the world, contributing their unique perspectives and experiences.
Our employees are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. We firmly believe that employees should feel valued and respected. We encourage an environment of inclusivity, celebrating the differences that our employees bring to work every day.
Stellantis continues to undergo significant internal and external transformations. Diversity and inclusion are essential to the performance and sustainability of our business as we combine advanced technology and streamlined connectivity. Diverse teams allow us to be more agile and deliver quick solutions to the ever-evolving technology and mobility needs of our customers.
Vision
Reinforce diversity, equal opportunities and inclusion as a strength for our teams and business by influencing the development of new ideas and solutions that will shape the future.
Our Approach
Our Diversity and Inclusion strategy is underpinned by three principles:
- Empower diversity with meritocracy
- Respect for local traditions and context
- Find global common ground considering regional specificities.
Stellantis employees cultivate an inclusive environment through engagement, development and training to energize the full potential of our workforce.
Through our inclusive Human Resources policies, based on meritocracy we regularly evolve our tactics at all levels of the Company to ensure our actions remain effective in promoting equality of opportunity.
Stellantis is aligned with the vision of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on Gender Equality and is committed to following the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP). WEP encourages companies to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace, industry and community.
We have developed a comprehensive range of training to engage employees in D&I topics, ensuring the importance of the topic while communicating the employees’ role in contributing to overall inclusivity. Employees have access to training, development and career opportunities to support their contribution and progression within Stellantis.
Respect for Local Traditions and Context
Following are some examples of our progress at the regional level.
In South America, we strengthened our external commitment through the signature of the WEPs.
In North America, Stellantis was recognized in 2023 by Fair360 (formerly known as DiversityInc) at #30 on their Top 50 Companies for Diversity, as well as on specialty lists for Supplier Diversity (#2) and for Black Executives (#17). The Fair360 list recognizes large U.S. employers that model fairness in their talent strategy, workplace and supplier diversity practices, and philanthropic engagement. In both 2022 and 2023, the Company earned a top score of 100 on the annual Disability Equality Index (DEI), a comprehensive benchmarking tool that helps companies build focused and measurable strategies that support disability inclusion and equality in the workplace. The Rainbow PUSH Automotive Diversity Project recognized Stellantis with the Benchmark Award in 2022 and ranked Stellantis at #2 among 12 other automakers in 2023. Other notable Company recognition includes a 5-star rating for Governance by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility for the second straight year, Top 50 Best Employers for Latinas in the United States (#8) by LATINA Style magazine, and Top 50 Workplace for Indigenous STEM Professionals in North America for the fourth straight year.
In Europe, Stellantis was one of the first companies to be awarded the Diversity Label by AFNOR in recognition of its human resources policies and its best practices in promoting diversity and equal opportunity and preventing discrimination.
In the Middle East and Africa region, a month-long celebration of diversity and inclusion has been scheduled for March 2022. A newly-appointed individual will lead this effort, as well as develop other diversity and inclusion programs to support Stellantis’ diversity and inclusion activities.
Other countries, including India and China have specific projects focused on attracting diverse candidates directly from university campuses to meet our future skills requirements in areas such as software and digital technologies.
Finding Global Common Ground
Globally, we have set targets and ambitions for the percentage of women in leadership positions. Those targets are 30% by 2025, above 35% by 2030. In 2022 women represented 27% of those in leadership positions. For additional information, refer to the Stellantis CSR Report.
Our Business Resource Groups are the navigators in our diversity and inclusion journey. They develop multicultural learning opportunities, mentoring and networking events, community outreach initiatives, charitable activities and contribute to the development and improvement of Human Resources policies and processes across Stellantis. One of our Business Resource Groups, Women of Stellantis, represents nearly 5,000 members and allies in 37 countries and was developed to drive women to define and pursue their own and the Company’s path to success.
Every employee has experienced a different path on their journey to Stellantis.
